Spring 2019

PROJECT: Permanent collection exhibition at the Jan and Maria Manetti Shrem Museum of Art ROLE: Furniture designer, fabrication supervisor

Unique display components developed to enhance the experience of a traditional permanent collection exhibition of sculptural and pictorial artwork. Emphasis and design strategies deployed on the presentation of a seminal sculptural artwork, the Palace at 9am by Robert Arneson. The pedestal platform form-fits the artwork, which itself is created with a trompe-l’oeil forced perspective, appearing to shrink back into the distance. Phases to launch include coordinated artwork delivery, triage, and preservation work by contract conservator, field measurements, research and design, procurement, scheduling, fabrication and finishing, installation, mount fabrication and toe guard installation for public and artwork safety. Additional architectural display component fabricated and inserted into the soffit of the gallery to suggest a continuous banner. Banner designed by contract exhibition designer and coordinated vinyl installation with graphics vendor.
